All week I was worried about my Saturday wedding. I prayed & prayed and God delivered a beautiful day for us! Here’s just a couple pictures from the day. I’ll try and post more later, but I must sleep tonight!
Funny quote!

OK, so this just totally cracked me up & I feel the need to share. Papa has an eye infection & has needed drops for it. I put the drops in his eye tonight and a little while later he told me he was having trouble seeing. I noticed some ‘junk’ in his eye so I told him I’d clean it up for him. He asked if I got much of the drops on his face. He’s 95 years old (just to remind you all). Then he says, ” You know if you get too much on your face it will cause wrinkles.” It was all I could do to not actually laugh right there in the room. I just said, “Yeah it sure will.” Then off I went to get a cloth to clean him up.
74 1/2 years together!

We ended up having to get a hospital bed for Papa to help with his breathing. We can’t lower the rail, because we are afraid one of them would fall to the floor if they got in the crack. The rail is not stopping them from holding hands like they have done for the past 74+ years. I keep taking pictures of their hands because I think that it is too cute that they still hold hands all the time. The love they have for eachother is so strong. They really are like one person. They are so connected. Mema broke her arm and had to be in the hospital over night and Papa’s health declined a lot. We got her out of the hospital sooner because we knew it would help him and it did. He’s still not doing very well at all, but he’s had some good moments since she got home.
It’s been a really hard week! Wednesday Mema fell and broke her arm. Papa fell 3 times last week and his health has declined A LOT. It’s SO sad watching one of the kindest, strongest man I’ve ever known go down so fast. Byron and I have really pulled together and are doing EVERYTHING for them. And ya know, it’s OK. That is so not what I thought before they moved it. They are like our kids and we just do things because we need to care for them and we love them.
Anyway, I’ve been very tired which is why I have not posted anything. I will again when I have some time to edit. Things are going to get worse, I think. OH, but I finally cried ‘Uncle’ and we have some help. Today was the first day we had someone here. Byron and I got to go out for a quick lunch. That was nice AND she did our laundry! I can’t believe how much laundry we have now that we have Mema & Papa too.
Thanks to all my friends and family that have given us SO much support, food, love and encouragement. We could not have made it this far without all of you. Love you all!

Reilly with her lovey! That poor giraffe doesn’t have a neck anymore. That’s a lot of love.
She’s too cute, huh?!
Just to catch you up to speed on what’s been going on…..
A couple of weeks ago Mema went off on me which caused a fight and tension for a little while. I think we are all past that right now. Friday was quite eventful. Papa fell early on Friday and hurt his shoulder. Thankfully he did not break anything. He is sore. Then later in the evening I discovered Mema drank 1/2 bottle milk of magnesia. Off we went to the ER. Who knew that was such a bad thing, but I guess a lot is worse when you are 94 with conjestive heart failure. Anyway, I was there from 7p until 1:30am. Then Saturday she started calling me early to come take her home. Her mind is not well, so she didn’t think anyone had been in to take care of her. They did not bring her food until almost lunch time. I’m not sure what happened at St. John’s this weekend. When Papa was there things could not have been better. Everyone was nice and on top of things. This weekend was a different story. Anyway, I had to hang out with her to keep her in the hospital until they came in and saw us. We were glad she didn’t have to stay another night. They would have kicked her out.
Well, backing up a little bit, I talked to Byron about 9pm and he said Papa’s shoulder was looking worse and swelling up. For a while we thought he would join us at the hospital. It was a little funny.
Things are harder than they were in the beginning. I guess the honeymoon is over, but I still would not kick them out. We just need to keep adjusting.
We put a patio in last week. I love it. When everything is finished I’ll have to post a picture of it. Anyway, no more mud in the back adn that makes me very happy!
